- The IAS 1 to IFRS 18 reconciliation for every caption and both years, and a subtotal bridge from profit before tax to operating profit.

Fit
Who it is for, and who it is not for
Who it is for
- Preparers of IFRS financial statements adopting IFRS 18, which applies to annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027 and restates the comparative year.
- Group reporting teams that must reconcile each line of the restated comparative statement of profit or loss.
- Companies that publish measures such as adjusted EBITDA and now reconcile them to an IFRS subtotal in a note.
- Accounting and audit firms preparing or reviewing the transition for clients, under the Practice licence.
Who it is not for
- The statement of financial position, OCI, the statement of changes in equity and the full cash flow statement: this file covers profit or loss, with the IAS 7 consequences as a note.
- Groups whose segments have different main business activities: the elections apply to the whole entity.
- Allocating expenses presented by function to their nature: you tag the nature of each line where you know it.
- Interim reports, segment reporting and XBRL tagging.
- Anyone looking for the main business activity judgement to be made for them: the workbook records your elections and shows their effect.

Checks
The checks
Every check is visible on the Checks tab and shows PASS or FAIL.
| ID | Check | On the sample data |
|---|---|---|
| C01 | Profit or loss for both years is unchanged by the reclassification: the IFRS 18 statement equals the IAS 1 statement and the sum of every line. | PASS |
| C02 | Every line is categorised exactly once, including foreign exchange and derivative lines through their related item type. | PASS |
| C03 | The IAS 1 to IFRS 18 reconciliation foots for both years, caption by caption, and the subtotal bridge lands on operating profit. | PASS |
| C04 | Every subtotal agrees with the category totals computed directly from the lines, for both years. | PASS |
| C05 | Every MPM reconciles from its nearest subtotal to the amount as published, and every reconciling item names a registered measure. | PASS |
| C06 | Every MPM reconciling item has a tax basis and an NCI basis, and the tax rate and NCI share are between 0 and 1. | PASS |
| C07 | The entity profile elections are valid and consistent with each other. | PASS |
| C08 | The IAS 7 reclassification of interest and dividends nets to zero for both years, and every amount has its previous classification. | PASS |
| C09 | Line inputs are valid: codes present and unique, captions and nature tags from the lists, amounts of zero or more, checklist statuses valid. | PASS |
| C10 | Settings are valid: tolerance, materiality threshold and reporting date. | PASS |
| C11 | Income tax and discontinued operations lines carry the matching IAS 1 caption, and the other way round. | PASS |

Questions
Questions
Does it need macros?
No. Every calculation is a formula you can trace. There is no VBA in the file.
Which Excel versions does it work in?
It is built without macros or dynamic-array functions and tested in Excel 365 for Windows. The Excel 2019, Mac and Google Sheets checks are listed on the How we test page as they are completed.
When does IFRS 18 apply?
To annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027, with earlier application permitted. The comparative year is restated, so the workbook classifies both years with the same mapping and reconciles each caption for both.
Does it decide our main business activity?
No. Whether the entity invests in assets or provides financing to customers as a main business activity is your judgement (IFRS 18.49 to 18.51). You record the elections in Settings, and the Rules tab shows what each one changes.
How are foreign exchange differences and derivatives classified?
Each one follows the item that gave rise to it, which you choose as its related item type. Where that would involve undue cost or effort, a separate code puts it in operating.
Which version of the standard does it follow?
IFRS 18 as issued in April 2024 and IAS 7 as amended by it. The Rules tab prints the paragraph behind each rule; the Appendix B guidance on derivatives is cited by topic.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The workbook runs on your computer. We never see your ledgers.
Why not ask an AI assistant to build the transition?
You can, and you then need to check what it built. This workbook is the checked version: the same formulas in every file, every check visible, and each release tested against an independent recompute before it ships.
What does the licence allow?
Pro: one named user, for their own organisation. Team: up to 10 named users in one organisation, for its own work. Practice: up to 5 named users in one accounting or audit firm, for any number of clients. Every tier holds 500 profit or loss lines, 10 MPMs and 60 reconciling items. You may give completed files to your auditors and reviewers.
How do updates work?
When we release an update, it is free within the same major version for as long as we sell it. You get an email and download it from your library.
What happens after I pay?
Paddle emails your receipt, and we email you a one-time link to Your downloads. If the link has expired, open Your downloads and enter the same email address for a fresh one. Updates appear in the same place.
What if it does not work for me?
Ask within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, for any reason.
